East Los Angeles soul band Thee Sinseers will bring its blend of vintage R&B, doo-wop and Chicano soul to The Kessler Theater on Saturday, Oct. 31, as part of a tour supporting its new album, Love Stories. The Charities will open the Halloween night performance.

Led by singer, songwriter and producer Joey Quiñones, Thee Sinseers draw from a musical tradition rooted in the Mexican American communities of East Los Angeles. Chicano soul emerged during the 1960s, combining American rhythm and blues, doo-wop and soul with the musical influences and cultural experiences of Mexican American musicians.

Thee Sinseers will perform at The Kessler on October 31.

Formed in 2019, the group has developed a sound built around Quiñones’ vocals, layered harmonies, guitars, keyboards and a horn section. Its music reflects influences ranging from classic soul singers to 1960s rocksteady and pioneering Chicano rock groups such as Thee Midniters, whose name also inspired the band’s own.

Thee Sinseers released Love Stories on Sept. 18 through Colemine Records. Produced by Quiñones and mixed by Kelly Finnigan, the album explores romantic relationships, family connections, heartbreak and reconciliation.

The recording incorporates upright bass, warm guitar tones and string arrangements alongside the band’s established soul influences. Songs include “Oh Love,” “Did Ya Know?” and “Let’s Fall in Love (Again).”

The Dallas appearance follows Texas performances in McAllen, Houston and San Antonio. The Halloween concert will feature fellow California soul group The Charities as special guests.

The Kessler Theater is located at 1230 W. Davis St. in Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show scheduled for 8 p.m.

The performance is currently sold out, according to the venue, which offers a waitlist for prospective attendees.
