One of the State Fair of Texas’ longtime music traditions is getting a new home in 2026, with the Chevrolet Main Stage moving inside the historic Fair Park Coliseum.
The move will give fairgoers an indoor, concert-style setting for the Main Stage’s 24-day schedule of performances. Concerts will continue to be included with State Fair admission, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Main Stage has been a fixture of the State Fair for decades, hosting performers ranging from Texas artists early in their careers to some of the biggest names in popular music. Selena, Elvis Presley, Destiny’s Child and Garth Brooks are among the artists who have performed for State Fair audiences over the years.
The stage has operated under the Chevrolet Main Stage name for nearly 30 years, presenting hundreds of local, regional, national and international performers.
Moving the concerts into Fair Park Coliseum also frees the Main Stage’s former outdoor location for new attractions. State Fair officials said details about what will occupy the space will be announced in the coming weeks.
“In our institution’s 140th year, the State Fair of Texas continually looks for ways to embrace innovation and change, while staying true to beloved traditions our fairgoers cherish and pass down for generations,” said Jason Hays, senior vice president of brand experience for the State Fair.
The 2026 Main Stage schedule will include performers from multiple musical genres throughout the Fair’s run.
The 2026 State Fair of Texas opens Sept. 25 and continues through Oct. 18 at Fair Park in Dallas. Daily admission tickets go on sale Sept. 1.
